Remote patrol

Comedian John Leguizamo (above) adapts his high-energy one-man Broadway show "Freak" in a 90-minute special at 9 tonight on HBO. Leguizamo, raised in the ethnic candy bowl of Queens, New York, paints wild caricatures of life in an extended Latino family in the 1970s. His impersonations of his long-suffering dad, worshipful mom, loony religious-zealot grandmother and countless other relatives are naughty, sacrilegious and so unrelievedly dark that they overwhelm his occasionally hilarious observations. Spike Lee directs. Rated TV-MA for the usual HBO reasons.
