Remote patrol

I suspect corporate synergy was behind the newest installment of "Intimate Portrait" airing at 6 p.m. on Lifetime. The subject is lawyer-talk show host Star Jones, who is seen daily on ABC, which is owned by Walt Disney Co., which owns half of Lifetime. Fortunately, Jones has a great story to tell, and for the most part she's allowed to tell it in her own words; the ostensible narrator, soap opera queen Susan Lucci, is infrequently heard. Jones was raised by a single mom and relatives in North Carolina and New Jersey. At college she "fell in with the right groups," had a brush with death and then eased herself onto the celebrity escalator, going up. >>>
