Remote patrol
Tom Brokaw's "greatest generation" did not always do great things, as we learn in a one-hour "Dateline NBC" special at 9 tonight on Channel 41. While on duty in the Korean War, Ed Daily was witness to a massacre of South Korean refugees that had been ordered by the United States, which thought, perhaps wrongly, that North Koreans were hidden in their midst. Racked by his conscience, Daily wanted to return to the scene and face the survivors of that massacre. NBC arranged for the trip and was there for the confrontation. Brokaw narrates. Also tonight, buckle up as "Hollywood Hot Wheels" (7, American Movie Classics) takes a look at some of the most memorable cars on film, from James Dean's convertible to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." @ART CAPTION:Chitty Chitty Bang Bang @ART:Photo (color)
