Remote patrol

"Sunflower Journeys" begins its lucky 13th season at 7 tonight, showcasing the culture and history of Kansas. It airs for 13 consecutive Thursdays on Topeka's KTWU. Tonight's broadcast celebrates three recent centennials: a look at Gage Park, 80 mostly serene acres on the west end of Topeka; a brief history of the American Royal; and the story of the enterprising Abilene man who in 1899 began building a telephone empire. (If you live in Johnson County, KTWU is carried on cable. Otherwise, better find a TV antenna.)
