TNN is crowing about having the world premiere rights to MGM's new animated version of "Tom Sawyer," which hits the video stores next week. This country-music-tinged version of the Mark Twain tale will have its television debut at 7 tonight on TNN. But don't be surprised if you're disoriented by the opening scene, in which a giant wolf breaks into a rural church frequented by pigs and makes off with the collection box. And don't hurt yourself trying to fathom the senseless plot and inane cartoon slapstick of this movie, in which all the parts are played by cute critters. Perhaps the grown-ups should listen to the soundtrack instead. It features cuts from Mark Wills, Lee Ann Womack, Charlie Daniels and Rhett Akins (who all have speaking parts in "Tom Sawyer"). @ART CAPTION:Tom Sawyer (voiced by Rhett Akins) and his sweetie, Becky thatcher (Lee Ann Womack). @ART:Photo (color) >>>
