Cursed

Airs: 7:30 p.m., NBC (Channel 41) Stars: Steven Weber, Chris Elliott, Wendell Pierce, Amy Pietz In brief: Nice guy goes on blind date from hell, winds up with hex. But is it any good? "Cursed" is better than it was a couple of months ago. But that's not saying much. NBC executives wisely called for a change of producers after seeing the brain-damaged pilot episode of "Cursed" this summer. The new producer has raised the IQ level of the show, but he, too, is cursed - with an unappealing premise and with cast members who look like they can hardly stand to be in the same room with each other. Is it a survivor? Reruns of "Friends" have been doing surprisingly well in this time slot. If "Cursed" can't match those ratings, it will vanish quickly. And that would be a blessing. @ART CAPTION:Steven Weber (center) stars in "Cursed" with (from left) Amy Pietz, Wendell Pierce and Chris Elliott. @ART:Photo (color) @ART CREDIT:NBC >>>
