What about Joan

Airs: 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, ABC (Channel 9) Stars: Joan Cusack, Kyle Chandler, Donna Murphy, Jessica Hecht, Wallace Langham, Kellie Shanygne Williams In brief: Chicagoans fall in and out of love. But is it any good? Certainly one of the louder sitcoms of recent years. Cusack's character yells, carries on and generally teeters on the edge of a breakdown. But after a while she starts to grow on you. The writing crackles. Chandler, who apparently didn't leave Chicago after "Early Edition" folded, is merely OK as the Greg to her Dharma. Is it a survivor? As I just hinted, "What About Joan" is a natural to follow "Dharma & Greg." Whether audiences follow depends on how much sustained wackiness they can take. @ART CAPTION:Cusack @ART CREDIT:ABC @ART:Photo (color) >>>
