Stupid White Men man does KC

Michael Moore will be in Kansas City March 25 to speak and sign copies of his best-selling new book, Stupid White Men. The free event will be at 7 p.m. in the Spencer Theatre for the Performing Arts at UMKC. Free tickets will be available starting today at Recycled Sounds, 3941 Main; Hollywood at Home, 9063 Metcalf; and Rainy Day Books, 2706 W. 53th in Fairway. Stupid White Men has become a publishing phenomenon, seemingly despite the efforts of the book's nervous publisher, HarperCollins. Following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, HarperCollins delayed the book's release, then asked Moore to tone down the book's incendiary rhetoric, which is strident toward the Bush administration and, in particular, its cozy relationship with Enron Corp. @ART CAPTION:Moore @ART:Photo
