Sadly, CBS has ended its Friday-night experiment of airing reruns of UPN's "Veronica Mars." Network publicity declared the brief trial a success, as evidenced by this all-caps bullet point: A COMBINED 1,000,000 WOMEN 18-34 WATCHED ALL OR PART OF THE FOUR VERONICA MARS TELECASTS ON CBS, AND 84% OF THESE WOMEN 18-34 HAD NEVER SEEN THOSE EPISODES BEFORE. And so you're stopping it ... why?
In our market, two shows have recently moved into the Friday-night public affairs ghetto on public TV station KCPT: "Foreign Exchange with Fareed Zakaria," whom I interviewed earlier this year; and "Mental Engineering," a terrific ad-review show produced out of the Twin Cities, that I wrote about way back when, because even then, man, I knew.
