Justin Guarini will join the cast as a Yippie

The Stargate franchise continues to rule the television universe.  SCI FI Channel has ordered new seasons of its hit original series, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.  Production on both 20-episode seasons is slated to begin in early 2006 for summer premieres on SCI FI.

I hear more complaining about these two shows being out of gas than any other shows on TV. But apparently, people watch anyway.

HBO has re-upped David Milch of "Deadwood" for two years (if not his show) and has him developing a project with "NYPD Blue" collaborator Bill Clark:

Milch and Clark are working on an untitled police drama based on Clark's experiences as a rookie undercover officer assigned to keep tabs on the Black Panthers and other countercultural rabble-rousers during the height of New York's radical-chic moment. It was also the era of New York City's Knapp Commission probe that revealed scandalous levels of corruption among New York's finest.

Now there's a period piece and a cop drama rolled together that I could get into.

And on a related note, reasons you should not trust network publicity #273:

Mark-Paul Gosselaar joins the cast of “Commander In Chief” as of episode nine, it was announced today. Gosselaar will play a slick, savvy media strategist. His character’s name is still TBD. This marks the second time he has worked with Steven Bochco, who created and executive-produced “NYPD Blue,” in which Gosselaar starred from 2001-2005.

Not counting shows on other networks, I guess. Gosselaar played a news photographer on "Over There" this season.
