Happy birthday, FOIA

Foia Remember when Jeff Jarvis made that amazing discovery that the Parents Television Council was singlehandedly responsible for keeping Kevin "Doogie" Martin and his indecency ship afloat?

Well, Jeff couldn't have done it without the Freedom of Information Act, which turns 40 today. Mike McGraw, of our projects' desk, writes this powerful tribute to FOIA in today's Kansas City Star. What Mike doesn't mention is that his series on the wretched state of the USDA, that won him and Jeff Taylor the Pulitzer Prize in 1992, would not have been possible without FOIA.
