Be careful what you say.....

Boy, attorney general of New York Eliot Spitzer must be wishing today he found other means of keeping his name in the news back in 1997.  The then-prosecutor and political hopeful appeared on "Rivera Live" and weighed in the latest "find" in the story that proved to be Geraldo's nightly obsession/meal ticket/career rehab project, namely the JonBenet Ramsey murder investigation.

I stumbled over a transcript of Spitzer casting doubt on a claim that the Ramseys had made about not hearing JonBenet's screams, which were reported by a neighbor.  I walked that transcript over to one of our reporters, Jim Fussell, and you can read it in his story: Kansas City Star | JonBenet Ramsey case: Tragedies test our restraint.

And that was just a dumb random find.  Who knows how many other people shot off their mouths during the months-long Ramsey feeding frenzy?
