We've owned a vintage lamp for years and now, finally, the big bulb has burned out. I have no idea what this is. Do you? The base is huge, about an inch in diameter. This GE bulb is a 100-200-300W "Indirect Three-Lite," which is obviously a long-discontinued brand.
Would Alec Baldwin's 30 Rock character know?

I have a lamp that uses that bulb. I haven't tried to replace the bulb because I don't use the lamp any more but as I remember it was called a "Mogul" base. Doubt they are still being made but I'll bet someone has one. Go to a lamp store. They will know.... or should.

I was thinking of calling Dick Ebersol.

Aaron,
I have a big old floor lamp that uses those big based bulbs and I have an extra bulb. If you don't find one, let me know. You might try Dave Smith the Light Maker at 7432 Wornal Rd. 333-4200. They are one of those shops that can fix almost any kind of lamp.

Aaron - Nann is right - that's a "mogul" base bulb, and they most definitely are still being made. (My parents have an old hurricane lamp that use the same bulb.) You should be able to pick up a new one at any larger Home Despot-type store.

Personally, I'd just email Dick Debartolo, the self proclaimed Giz Wiz. If he or Leo L from the late tech tv cant find the right solution, who can?

I think you could probably find a replacement by going to CBS Television City and surreptitiously swiping one from the set of "The Price is Right."
