8 p.m.
Joe
the Bartender can get you caught up if you missed any of last season on
the "Grey's Anatomy: Complications of the Heart: Clip Show" (ABC; see
9).
Ultimatum of the week: "'Til Death" (Fox) or getting rid of the woodpile in the garage.
An entertainment center doesn't live up to its billing on "My Name Is Earl" (NBC). This week's item to be crossed off the list: #183, "Never took Joy's side."
TCM DVD THEATER
Dick Cavett's interview
with Robert Mitchum appears without an FBI warning, followed by "The
Night of the Hunter" (9:15), "Cape Fear" (12:15 a.m.), "Out of the
Past" (2:15) and "Thunder Road" (4).
This week's mystery ingredient on "Survivor: Cook Islands" (CBS) is raw seaweed. Let the battle of Kitchen Stadium begin!
"Where Did It Come From?" (History): "Ancient Egypt: Iconic Structures"
"Tools of the Trade" (National Geographic): "Fire Trucks"
"Signé Chanel" (Sundance): "Rituals"
"Clark Howard: Dollars and Sense" (Discovery Health)
"Fuse Celebrity Playlist" (Fuse): James Franco
8:30 p.m.
Michael
is scared straight in sensitivity training after accidentally outing a
gay employee (who we'll never see again) at "The Office" (NBC).
A gynecologist who has access to Amanda's medical files cancels a date with her at "Happy Hour" (Fox).
9 p.m.
Sure, but what Andy Warhol really wants to do is direct, on "American Masters" (PBS).
Tonight on "Deal or No Deal" (NBC), Earl's winning lottery ticket is hidden in case #22.
"CSI" (CBS) uses Cirque-ular logic to solve the murder of an aspiring acrobat.
The winner of "Celebrity Duets" (Fox) gets to cause panic attacks for Clay Aiken.
UNNECESSARY GUEST PATIENTS
"Grey's
Anatomy" (ABC; runs long): Chris O'Donnell, Loretta Devine. Chart
readings: a fleeing fiancée, the results of intern-al affairs, and
wives at 10 paces.
Two hotel guests prove the "Magic Bullet Theory" in "Murder City" (BBC America).
"Science of Steel" (National Geographic)
"The First 48" (A&E)
"The Kids Are in Charge: Family Vacation" (Travel): "New York: McCauley Family"
"Notorious" (Biography): "The Black Dahlia"
10 p.m.
"ER" (NBC) heads to Canada to avoid the draft.
TELE-GEBRA
"Boston
Legal" x "House" + "Judging Amy" = "Shark" (CBS). Here we have a show
based on the premise that TV's favorite misogynist/Vicodin addict is
sexy when he cries. James Woods is mentoring a team of fresh-faced
prosecutors (who they could probably have hired directly from Dick
Wolf's "Conviction") and the plot of each episode involves getting the
evil bastard to grimace at the thought of forcing the little orphans
out in the snow ... or at least into cardboard boxes on the Sunset
Strip. Awwwwwww. This comes out of the type of pitch meeting where
someone suggests, "You know what, I've always wanted to see Jerry
Springer do the tango."
NEW-SENSE
"Six Degrees" (ABC) is what
would happen if "Friends" had a premise and that premise is "Lost,"
with the other five people showing up in everyone else's flashbacks.
"The Underground" (Showtime)
"Dallas SWAT" (A&E)
"The Ultimate Fighter" (Spike)
"Wild 'n Out" (MTV)
"Throwdown With Bobby Flay" (Food)
"Ancient Asteroid" (National Geographic)
"Abducted" (MSNBC)
10:30 p.m.
"Pimp My Ride" (MTV)
"Crimefighters" (BBC America): "Kick Offs and Knock Offs"
"Ace of Cakes" (Food)
11 p.m.
"TNA iMPACT!" (Spike)
