DAYTIMER
Starting in syndication this week:

* "Cristina's Court" with Judge Cristina Pérez. Where have you seen this Colombian TV judge before? She's had a series, "Corte de Familia" ("Family Court"), on Telemundo USA.
* Forensic psychiatrist and horror novelist "Dr. Keith Ablow" hopes to look viewers in the eye and connect with them as a younger Dr. Phil but with more training. Where have you seen him before? Giving his analysis of the Scott Peterson trial on every show possible.
* Former Massachusetts Superior Court "Judge Maria Lopez" is also taking the bench. Where have you seen this Cuban-born legal eagle before? She's known for her controversial sentencing of child abusers to probation and rehabilitation, and a 2000 tape of her yelling at a prosecutor who questioned her rulings made the pop culture/infotainment circuit. FUN FACT: She's not the actor from "Saved by the Bell."
* Despite running only 88 episodes, Mark Addy's (fat-guy-hot-wife, inept parenting) sitcom "Still Standing" can now be seen five nights a week in syndication, as well as a mind-boggling double run weekdays on Lifetime.
* And "The Tyra Banks Show" returns (who would have predicted it) for a second season, with an (exclusive?) hour of a skin-deep debate on racism in America with women of five different ethnicities. Plus, according to Ms. Banks, "The set is new. The theme song is updated. The topics are amazing. My clothes will be rockin'!!! It's all new, baby. All new!!!" (Particularly cohost Star Jones.)

Comments

This post actually made me feel good about my TV watching habits, besides Dr Laura I have no clue who the other ones are.

Dr. Keith Ablow has actually written an entire book, I have it on my desk here, entitled:

INSIDE THE MIND OF SCOTT PETERSON.

And here, dated Sept. 6, is the lineup of his first five shows:

Monday, September 11, 2006
“Premiere Show”
In his premiere show, Dr. Keith Ablow brings his practical experience and impeccable credentials as a psychiatrist to daytime television, providing insight, advice, and, ultimately, hope to individuals, couples and families coping with personal challenges. In addition, Dr. Ablow acknowledges a day that will go down in history as one of our nation’s darkest, 9/11, and helps some of those most affected find hope.

Tuesday, September 12, 2006
“Inside the Mind of the Man who Tried to Confess to JonBenet Ramsey’s murder”
Dr. Keith Ablow takes his viewers on a journey inside the mind of the man who tried and failed to take responsibility for the murder of child beauty queen, JonBenet Ramsey. Recognized as one of the nation’s foremost forensic experts on this case, Dr. Ablow, shares his exclusive interview with Karr’s former child-bride, Quientana Ray, and invites other friends, acquaintances, and experts onto his show in an effort to shed some light on why someone would attempt to take responsibility for a crime he did not commit.

Wednesday, September 13, 2006
“Four Generations Plagued by Addiction”
Dr. Keith Ablow intervenes in a family caught in a vicious cycle of drug and alcohol addiction. Can Dr. Ablow help family members confront this multi-generation problem head on and put an end to this families’ disease going forward?

Thursday, September 14, 2006
“Heartbreak in the Public Eye: Tori Spelling's Ex-Husband Speaks Out”
Dr. Keith Ablow sits down in an intimate, one-on-one interview with Charlie Shanian about his pain in dealing with his very public divorce from one of Hollywood’s royal heirs, Tori Spelling.

Friday, September 15, 2006
“Dr. Keith Ablow Helps Teens Learn to Accept their Parent’s New Mates”
Dr. Keith Ablow talks with families affected by divorce, as they struggle with their children’s unwillingness to accept their new spouses.
