DAYTIMER
Starting in syndication this week:
*
"Cristina's Court" with Judge Cristina Pérez. Where have you seen this
Colombian TV judge before? She's had a series, "Corte de Familia"
("Family Court"), on Telemundo USA.
* Forensic psychiatrist and
horror novelist "Dr. Keith Ablow" hopes to look viewers in the eye and
connect with them as a younger Dr. Phil but with more training. Where
have you seen him before? Giving his analysis of the Scott Peterson
trial on every show possible.
* Former Massachusetts Superior Court
"Judge Maria Lopez" is also taking the bench. Where have you seen this
Cuban-born legal eagle before? She's known for her controversial
sentencing of child abusers to probation and rehabilitation, and a 2000
tape of her yelling at a prosecutor who questioned her rulings made the
pop culture/infotainment circuit. FUN FACT: She's not the actor from
"Saved by the Bell."
* Despite running only 88 episodes, Mark Addy's
(fat-guy-hot-wife, inept parenting) sitcom "Still Standing" can now be
seen five nights a week in syndication, as well as a mind-boggling
double run weekdays on Lifetime.
* And "The Tyra Banks Show" returns
(who would have predicted it) for a second season, with an (exclusive?)
hour of a skin-deep debate on racism in America with women of five
different ethnicities. Plus, according to Ms. Banks, "The set is new.
The theme song is updated. The topics are amazing. My clothes will be
rockin'!!! It's all new, baby. All new!!!" (Particularly cohost Star
Jones.)
