C-SPAN rock star Tavis Smiley

Smileytavislg Every year, millions tune in to C-SPAN for the annual "State of the Black Union," moderated by author, commentator, and public broadcasting personality Tavis Smiley. The eighth SOTBU is this weekend, and I talked with Smiley about what they'll be covering — and what they won't be covering. Smiley also explained how his new public radio program isn't like his old public radio program, and why he hasn't soured on PBS the way he did on NPR.
