Local gal makes really, really good

Kansas Citians still remember Katherine Bliss, KC native and former Fox-4 news anchor who was here until the late 1990s, when she took a job at the CBS O&O in Chicago, WBBM.

Well, imagine my surprise when accompanying the lovely granddaughter to the new Kohl Children's Museum in suburban Chicago this weekend and seeing her name on the donor wall.

P1010043.JPGI asked Robert Feder, the venerable radio-TV columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, if this was the same Kitty we knew. And he confirmed it was, producing a 2000 item from his column announcing that Bliss was engaged to Jerry James, a Chicago real estate developer. From the Google dives I did, it seems Bliss is involved in other related charitable work, including the Chicago Education Foundation.

Well, that's one way to make a transition out of journalism!
