On newsstands now: Yet more of me
Two periodicals are just out with contributed pieces from Mr. TV Barn. The first is a "Spotlight" column -- that's the new back-of-the-book op-ed piece that began running earlier this year in Macworld magazine. In it I explain in detail why I think Apple TV is such a great invention, in theory if not in reality (at least, not right now). Related TVB podcast
The other piece is not online and won't be until the issue is off newsstands. It's my profile of "Nashville Star" bandleader John Bohlinger (an old friend) in the Summer 2007 issue of Montana Quarterly magazine, shown here. The article's about 5,000 words, but was very satisfying to write and I think you'll find, if you can find it, very satisfying to read as well. Montana has had other full-color magazines for decades, but Nick Ehli (another old friend) has helped create the magazine my home state always deserved. MQ combines beautiful photography with hard-headed journalism about the people who made Montana what it is, and in turn were made who they are by living in Big Sky Country. More about MQ
