PBS World, the antidote to cable news

Today PBS issued the announcement we've been waiting for — its 24/7 channel PBS World, which repurposes "NewsHour," "Tavis Smiley," and a pile of public-affairs programs and documentaries, will launch in about 26 percent of the country in August. I got my voice recorder to John Wilson, the top programmer at PBS, to talk about it this morning. (UPDATE 9:38 PM PT: I added about a minute of extra interview I'd accidentally left out.--AB)
