OK, all you doubters and haters, you folks who thought Mark Cuban was just giving Dan Rather a soft landing at a bargain basement price when he left CBS News. Tonight "Dan Rather Reports" will air a report on electronic voting machines and the problems with them that will turn your stomach.
For those of you who don't get the HDNet channel, and thus can't watch "Dan Rather Reports," here's a 13-minute clip from tonight's episode. And here's a preview from our good good friend, Frazier Moore.
You know I've been rough on Dan, and for good reason -- he waited too long to apologize for the shoddy work on Memogate, and even then failed to acknowledge his own arrogance in the matter. But journalists deserve second chances, and third, and in my case hundredth chances, and so with that I commend to you the work of a lion in winter.

I tend to agree with you, Aaron...But if his report turns into a bizarre conspiracy theory about how Bush/Rove stole the 2000-2004 election, then I'm inclined to agree with the Conservatives on Rather.
There are plenty of things to go after Bush/Cheney/Rove on....

Well, it didn't.
It's a report about faulty touch screens, not about the 2000 election.

I have no "love" for Dan Rather but...
Just as with Howard Cosell leaving football , the replacements are even worse.
NBC has a "news" show which is unwatchable - a collection of "man on the street" vignettes with occasional "commentary" by Tim Russert who is respected for no reason I can tell. (see me with my dry erase board stating the obvious).
CBS has "Katie" - nuff said...
Thanks for the link, it was interesting on many levels. Well done by HD-Net (and Dan).

Too bad all of Dan's work is available just on cable and not on the HDNet website.

A second chance for Rather? Look!
If a man is a fair journalist
we give him a second chance.
Rather has proven himself over
the past 25 years not only
unfair, biased but also a liar.
Do you really believe your
"second chance" much less your
asinine "hundreth chance" is
going to see any change in
Rather's bigotry and deceit?
If so you probably think Charles
Manson deserves parole.
When a newsman abuses the trust
placed in him by the public it
is far worse than a doctor's
error in the operating room.
No doctor should be denied
his livlihood because of one
or two errors. But more than
that needs serious analysis.
In the case of your biased,
unfairness and deceitful Dan
Rather he should be drummed out
of any form of public media.
Simply stated the man's a liar.
Who's paying you to support
this socialistic spin-master?

Documented proof besides Memogate that Dan Rather is "biased, unfairness and deceitful," please, besides Newsmax, Drudge or the web sites of Loofah Felafel, Rush Vicodin or Sean Insanity.
And what's your problem with the First Amendment, wingnut moron?
And oh yes, what's your opinion of African-Americans, Latinos, Asian-Americans, Native Americans, Jews, women, gays and lesbians--as if we didn't already know?

Gee, what a surprising set of comments. Drawing the blinds now ...
