Lineup screwup cripples area TiVos
UPDATE: It's fixed! That was quick.
If you are a TiVo owner and Time Warner Cable Kansas City customer, then you have been having a bad week.
First, the channel lineup changes that have been announced for weeks as happening on March 12 didn't kick in until either late Thursday or early Friday, meaning (among other things) that you didn't get the Wednesday and Thursday editions of "Countdown" because MSNBC had moved to Channel 28. (You got two hours of National Geographic programming instead.)
Then, when the channel lineups finally did change, they were the wrong lineup changes! Seems that after Time Warner heavily redacted the lineup change it originally announced in February, it failed to inform TiVo's lineup provider. As a result, area DVRs not owned by TWC are currently under the impression that BBC America has moved to Channel 264 (actually 263), that C-SPAN and C-SPAN2 were shifted (not true), and that Style is now where C-SPAN used to be (also not true), among other problems.
The TiVo tech person I spoke with estimated it could take "several days" to remedy the situation. Oy vey! Time Warner has yet to respond to calls and emails I put out late Friday, after discovering the mixup while channel surfing.
