Happy Brokaw Tuesday! "High School Confidential's" Emmy ad; McClellan's uncomfortable "Daily Show" moment

What do Montana and South Dakota have in common, besides their primary dates? This guy.

WE tv has taken out a "For Your Consideration" ad in the trades touting "High School Confidential" for the Emmy Awards. We'll see, but as Sharon Liese, who created the locally-made series, would agree, it's an honor just to have someone blow their marketing budget on you:

Also, here's the second part of Jon Stewart's grilling of former WH press secretary Scott McClellan last night. I always find it odd that people think Jon is not a "serious" news commentator. Journalist he's not, but in every other aspect he's comparable to Bill Moyers or Keith Olbermann. Notice, for instance, how he presses the point (which he was also making before the break, just not as succinctly), that the entire Bush presidency was premised on fraud and manipulation. He's got McClellan in a vise, but because this is television, and since TV can only stomach so much human cruelty (as Neil Postman pointed out long ago, adding, "Bless its heart"), you knew Stewart would eventually let his quarry wriggle free.
