With thanks to my tweeps, especially Jason Snell, here are side by sides of the new Republican VP pick and two other gals on TV she reminds us of.
As Jason pointed out, should something happen to President McCain in a Cylon attack, we're all set.

Let's see... Liz Lemon is sexy and smart. Laura Roslin is sexy and smart.
I must be missing something -- why does the young governor remind us of these two characters...

She also looks a bit like the lady who played Karen Walker on Will and Grace.

TWM,
Mayor of tiny town in Alaska -> Governor of Alaska -> Potentially one heartbeat away from -> President of the US
School teacher -> Secretary of Education of the 12 Colonies -> One cylon attack away from being -> President of the 12 Colonies
Also, the hair and glasses.
Hope this helps.

Or. . . is she the second Mrs. Kravitz on "Bewitched"?

I think she looks like Karen from Will & Grace, especially the way she wears her hair.

FINALLY! A politician has the balls to go after the critical Blurg & Frak demographic! Or... maybe not the balls.

I was just thinking yesterday that it was too bad that Tina wasn't on SNL anymore. She didn't tend to do impersonations, but I don't think it would be too hard for her to pick up on Palin.

Ditto Jason Snell, she's a spot-on ringer for Gladys Kravitz, America's favorite nosy midwestern neighbor.

Aaron, I have to go with Karen Walker, as portrayed by the lovely Megan Mullally on Will & Grace, though inside Karen is nothing like "the pitchfork-wielding" villager from our most northern state.
The pitchfork reference, a hat tip to Chris Matthews.

I've lost the credit for this amazing compare-and-contrast McCain/Tigh/Palin/Roslin image.

Thanks, Jason, that does help.
But -- after reading today's new stories, it turns out that Sarah Palin is Bree Hodge.
