1. "Lewis Black's Root of All Evil" (9:30 p.m. CT Wednesdays, Comedy Central). Black, who performs at the Music Hall this week, presides over this pop-culture rantfest as tightly structured and wound as himself.

2. Fanny Pak. I think these crazy kids are actually going to win "America's Best Dance Crew."

3. Charles Van Doren's confession in the New Yorker. After 50 years, the most famous cheater of the quiz-show era has broken his silence.

... AND WHAT'S NOT

1. "Gossip Girl" hype. New Yorkers go on and on about this show - but "Secret Life of the American Teenager" now has a bigger audience.

2. "Eureka." In season three (it airs 8 p.m. CT Tuesdays on Sci Fi) this show is more popular and less interesting than ever, having morphed from futuristic fantasy into sci-fi soap.

3. "Outfoxed." This re-release of Robert Greenwald's DVD hit keeps pounding away at Fox News as though nothing changed since 2005. Yes, Fox cooked up the Obama "madrassa" smear — and was called on it by everyone from ABC to Jon Stewart. It's time to move on, Bob.
