Colbert's Xmas DVD to feature Feist in an angel's suit, a Costello classic and a "Book Burning Yule Log"
Oh boy! Stephen Colbert will have a one hour special coming up during the holiday season that isn't just another clip reel show. "A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!" looks to be hilarious. It will air Nov. 23 on Comedy Central and feature seven original songs sung by Stephen and his guests Willie Nelson, Elvis Costello, John Legend, Toby Keith and Feist (above giving Stephen, and his fur-lined mukluks, a talking-to).
The whole gang will sing one number together: Nick Lowe's "(What's So Funny 'bout) Peace Love and Understanding." But wait -- there's more.
Two days later the DVD release of "Colbert Christmas" comes out. And among the DVD featurettes is something called the Book Burning Yule Log.
Comedy Central's rep couldn't be any more specific than that, because the special, including the extras, were being filmed this week. But she did share this juicy tidbit: "It is loop-able so if you would like to run it on your TV all day long, channel 9 style, then you have that option."
Can't wait. And I'm sure neither can the host of Christmas past.
