OK, I thought it was kind of amusing when CBS put out a press release advising that Bob Schieffer, longtime "Face The Nation" moderator, former anchor of the "CBS Evening News" and upcoming debate moderator, would be performing on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville prior to this week's Obama-McCain debate. (See below.)
But now I have in my possession -- and share with you below -- a single that CBS "Early Show" cohost Harry Smith wrote and recorded, "Red States Blue States Blues," also in Nashville this week.
What can we expect to see next? A video of Katie Couric duetting with Sarah Palin on a cover of "The Fightin' Side of Me"??

Bob Schieffer, Chief Washington Correspondent, CBS News, and Anchor of FACE THE NATION, will make his Grand Ole Opry debut during a special show the Opry is holding in honor of the Tuesday, Oct. 7, Presidential Debate at Belmont University in Nashville. Bob will be accompanied by his band, Honky Tonk Confidential.
