David Alan Grier is the fake news anchor for this at-times hilarious hodgepodge of "The Daily Show," "Colbert Report" and "Chappelle's Show." He also appears in fake news bits as other characters. In particular, his impersonation of Maya Angelou saying "Ain't that a bitch!" is not to be missed. However, Comedy Central didn't supply a clip of that. This rant from the opening monologue is pretty good, too, though be warned that the hit-to-miss ratio of "Chocolate News" doesn't approach that of "Chappelle."
"Chocolate News" premieres Wednesday night on Comedy Central, just before "The Daily Show."

DAG used to be great on LOVELINE and Adam Carolla's radio show.
Hopefully, this show is more like that and less than some of his failed sitcom efforts of the past.

I'm a Black woman and none of the clips I've seen are funny. If anything, they are offensive. I'm all for a brother getting paid but my hope is that this gets kicked off the air with a quickness.

I am a fan of DAG however, I do not support this show. Yes, we need comedy in the world but we do not need us acting like baffoons and negroes.
Comedy can be funny and it also can be tasteful. It saddens me that we are living in the 21st century and we black comedians still need to resort to distasteful antedotes.
We can show the world humor but we do not need to act like baffoons, sambos and negroes.
