Former Letterman writer throws McCain under the bus
While watching this video, I couldn't help but think, "Once a Letterman writer, always a Letterman writer." Donick Cary, who also did the "Lil Bush" cartoon, just released this cartoon. It looks exactly like a bit that Dave would do ... say, this Thursday night, just before his guest John McCain came on the show.
This clip is part of a series featuring McCain and his bus as characters. Details below.
FROM THE PRODUCERS OF THE IRREVERANT HIT SHOW "LIL' BUSH", COMES "THE ADVENTURES OF JOHN MCCAIN AND THE STRAIGHT TALK EXPRESS"
John McCain and his No-Nonsense, Imaginary Talking Bus, "Straight Talk", Jump Into Action to Save America
LOS ANGELES, CA, October 14, 2008 -- Sugarshack Animation today announced the launch of a new animated web series, "The Adventures of John McCain and the Straight Talk Express" on Hulu, YouTubeT, Break.com, Dailymotion and MySpaceTV, in addition to Yahoo and MSN via Hulu's syndicated media player. The original animated series is the brainchild of Donick Cary, ("The Simpsons", "Just Shoot Me" and "Late Night with David Letterman") creator of the white hot COMEDY CENTRAL series "Lil' Bush: Resident of the United States" and writer Jeff Poliquin ("Borat", "The Simpsons Video Game", "Lil' Bush").
"As much as those of us in the comedy world will miss George W. Bush, John McCain and his crazy sidekick Sarah Palin are giving us reason to hope again," states executive producer Donick Cary, "This could be the zaniest crew to the White House ever!"
In this new series, presidential hopeful John McCain knows he's the only man who can save America from its many enemies - from terrorists, to communists, to electronic mail. So he and his no-nonsense talking bus, "Straight Talk", jump into action. Unfortunately, John McCain's brain is always acting up on him, and the threats to America are just as imaginary as his magical talking bus.
The series is executive produced by Donick Cary, written by Donick and Jeff, and voiced by Dave Mitchell ("Lil Bush", "Highlander: The Search for Vengeance").
"The Adventures of John McCain and The Straight Talk Express" premieres on October 14, 2008 on McCainCartoon.com, as well as on digital distribution channels Hulu, YouTube, Break.com, MySpaceTV, and Dailymotion. New episodes will air each week leading up to the election.
