The moment when Fox and MSNBC were as one
Within moments of declaring Barack Obama the next President of the United States at 10:00:01 p.m. CT, Fox News Channel threw to its African-American analyst. A few minutes later, MSNBC did the same. And neither man even tried to hold his emotions in check. God bless 'em.

Williams actually choked up on the air, which I thought was touching. More important were the personal sentiments each man expressed -- each interpreted the moment through the lens of family.
Many other people are sharing their thoughts online, so I'll sign off and let you go read them. But I would note that as I was rapidly channel-surfing just after 10 p.m. my time, it struck me how it suddenly became fashionable for TV analysts on every channel to inform their viewers that Obama's election will improve America's stature in the world. And I had to wonder: Where were these sentiments when Americans were still deciding whom to vote for? Were the talking heads afraid of being called pro-French? It just seemed odd.
