1. "King of the Hill." No, I'm not happy it's going away after 13 seasons. I'm delighted that Hank Hill and company held on this long and still have many new episodes in the queue. "King" was a gentle giant, a classic in a genre that too often demands noise and violence.
2. "Entourage." I counted out HBO's buddy show too soon. The storyline that ended with Vince (Adrian Grenier) starring in "Smokejumpers" was clever and fresh. Ari (Jeremy Piven) found himself in new messes, and he's never funnier than when cornered.
3. Fox vs. FCC at the Supreme Court. This week's hearing could be the beginning of the end of the government's misguided 30-year effort to play TV nanny.
...AND WHAT'S NOT
1. Griping about political ads. Look, even I was sick of them at the end, and I'd love if the U.S. followed Britain and just said no to campaign commercials. But democracy isn't imperiled by the billions spent on them, either. As George Will noted, Americans spent more money this year on potato chips.
2. NBC finally fires "Heroes" producers. TV Barn contributor Gregg Winsor bailed on it, as did droves of ex-fans. So why'd it take this long for NBC to realize "Heroes" was hopelessly muddled and full of itself?
3. Fox 4 News in lo-def. Can you figure out which TV station hasn't gone HD yet in local news? The answer is clear, or rather, not clear.
