For those of you who aren't still waiting for your switched digital video tuning adapters (like me), Time Warner Cable just dumped a pile more high definition channels on your system.
(Kansas City, MO) Dec. 4, 2008 - Time Warner Cable has added 10 new High Definition (HD) channels to its lineup and replaced an eleventh HD channel. This follows the addition of 16 new HD channels a few months ago.
"Time Warner Cable is not only the home of free HD, but we deliver an outstanding variety of HD choices to our customers at no extra cost," says Damon Porter, Time Warner Cable Director of Public Affairs.
Among the 10 new HD channels available to Kansas City customers are CNBC (channel 1029), USA (channel 1039), Cartoon Network (channel 1058), FX (channel 1062), Sci-Fi (channel 1063) and Bravo (channel 1068). Sports fans will find Speed in Digital HD on channel 1201 and CBS College Sports on channel 1212. Fox Business News airs on channel 1232 in Digital HD while TMC is located on channel 1390 in Digital HD.
The MOJO network, which no longer broadcasts, has been replaced by MGM HD on channel 1501.
Customers will be able to access all HD versions of the networks included in their current programming tier.
"As the HD leaders, we are dedicated to enhancing our customers' viewing experience by adding a broad selection of exciting new HD content," Porter says.
During 2008, Time Warner Cable has more than doubled the number of HD channels available to its customers, Porter says. "At the beginning of the year, we offered 26 HD channels. Today, our HD lineup includes 60 channels and we hope to add more by the end of December," notes Porter.
