"Prison Break" cancelled "before it became a parody" -- ha! too late

That was the immediate reaction as news circulated among TV critics gathered here Tuesday that Fox was cancelling "Prison Break," a once-interesting idea that, last I checked in a year or so ago, was already sinking in a muck of inscrutable govmint-blackwatery intrigue and are-you-my-mother guessery. (Just reading the Wikipedia season four recap makes my head hurt.) Here's a nice post mortem with reaction from the show's creator.

ITA. This show was once halfway decent...then they started bringing back dead characters and its just laughable now. Put it out of its misery!

The first season was great.
The second was OK.
Then it got totally idiotic for the third, except the fourth makes no sense whatsoever [at least the 2 0r 3 I watched], then I bailed out.
