Welcome to the newest feature of TV Barn -- sneak previews! This week I look at HBO's "Taking Chance," starring Kevin Bacon as a Marine officer who escorts the remains of a private killed in Iraq to his final resting place; and "The Order of Myths," a PBS documentary about segregated Mardi Gras celebrations in Mobile.
(P.S. I'm going to try to produce these on Wednesdays from now on. "Taking Chance" repeats Feb. 22 and 24 and Feb. 26 on HBO2. Click here to grab the video RSS.)

Thank You HBO - This story needed to by told - I have a new opinion of HBO - Semper Fi

Every American should see this movie. Freedom isn't free, and we should all think about the service men and women who guard our gates.

I did burial duties when I was stationed at Marine Barracks Naval Weapons Station Calif..1967.all were for Marines kia'd in Vietnam. very tough duty. But tougher was when I was sent to Vietnam 1968 Marble Mt Mag-16 and we had to pick up Marine kia's in our Hueys.. some thoughts always went through my mind..the familes back home didn't even know their loved one had been killed and I could picture what each Marines funeral detail was going to look like..tough memories..
HBO's Taking Chance was heart breaking..but I think a lot of new genration in this country need to see reality how our
countries warriors make the extreme sacrifice for all of us.. and their familes too.

What a beautiful but sad story of what all of these young people have sacrificed for us. We all ache for these young people and their loved loved ones who are left with memories of their beloved. HBO did a great job of presenting this with taste, warmth and a movie that everyone should see.

caught this late last night on hbo....saw previews & figured it would prove to be worthwhile; this film was touching and a real tearjerker to say the least...I cannot imagine anyone watching this and not having a difficult time holding back tears.Kevin Bacon did a great job portraying his character.
