"Ghosts/Aliens" to be developed as Comedy Central series

NEW YORK, March 5, 2009 -- COMEDY CENTRAL and Paramount Vantage have acquired the rights to the recently-released book, Ghosts/Aliens written by Trey Hamburger, for a pilot and feature film script, it was announced today by Lauren Corrao, president, original programming and development, COMEDY CENTRAL and Guy Stodel, executive vice president, productions and acquisitions, Paramount Vantage. Scott Aversano and Carrie Beck of Aversano Films are producing the projects. The pilot script will be written by Phil Johnston (Screenplays "A Friggin' Christmas Miracle," "Jeremy Orm is a Pervert").
"We are very excited about developing this material into a television series and feature film with Scott and company," said Corrao. "It has just the right amount of sarcasm and wit that will appeal to our audience and this deal allows us to extend its appeal into film through our partners at Vantage."
"Ghosts/Aliens is the perfect comedy for Vantage and we are excited to be working with COMEDY CENTRAL again," said Stodel.
