I saw a segment on VORP and PECOTA. Only once and it was like SABRmetrics for morons but at least it was there.

Really? Wow. I feel like congratulating you for spotting a unicorn.

It doesn't invalidate your worthwhile column. Too much time on the MLBN is spent with the stories of retired ballplayers. With 24 hours to fill, they could give us statistical analysis.

Thanks for the great commentary, Jason. I enjoy reading the Vidiots where ever they may be published.

As for MLB Network, how much statistical analysis should there be before the season starts? That said, I can see tie-ins for fantasy leagues, preseason predictions, etc.

I think there are ways to make stats interesting although they are still stats. I think about the giant touch-screen tech that CNN used extensively during the election. It would be cool to have a virtual baseball card of a player and "zoom" into certain stats and info breakdowns.

I understand they did consider one of the Prospectus guys, Gary Huckaby. I've seen him in person, and I think he'd be pretty good. Don't know why they didn't hire him.
