"I'm living in fear of everyone in Juarez"

Got an email from the Renaud brothers. These are the native Arkansans who followed a National Guard unit from their home state for "Off to War," probably the best thing Vivian Schiller and Discovery Times put on during that channel's brief lifetime. And then they made "Little Rock Central" for HBO.

They just filmed three segments for the NY Times in Juarez, Mexico, where as they point out, you had a better chance of being murdered in 2008 than you did in Baghdad. These are compelling. I'm taking a lunch break here at the Peabody Center to watch it.

FirefoxScreenSnapz039Start with this heartbreaking one about the kids. Then scroll to the other two, the one where the Renauds embed with an army unit conducting huge crackdowns (they've cut the murder rate by 80 percent) and the one about the safe haven run by a nun who crosses over every day from El Paso, "one of the safest cities in America."
