BookTV's new video player

FirefoxScreenSnapz152This is turning into the week of the nonprofit video players ... Today BookTV.org hard-launched its new player, and though it's still got limitations, it's coming along. The best thing about it is that it streams BookTV live. The major drawback is that the jukebox appearance you see here is for the most part a facade. Clicking on any of the programs will take you to another screen ... and then you must click again ... to get another screen ... and finally, the video. Also, only recent programs are done in Flash, the older stuff still uses clunkier video technology. But hey, you can post it to Twitter — I'm amazed how many websites don't have that enabled but think StumbleUpon is still cool. (If it was ever cool.)

Coming Thursday, my preview of KCPT's new video player ... which is coming Friday. But if you'd like to see what it looks like, it's basically the local version of this.
