Denzel v. Norm Macdonald: Who do you THINK won?

98186_D0204wsFor whatever reason, I don't have PR yet from CBS, but "Late Show with David Letterman" and guest Denzel Washington — wind-aided, perhaps, by the blowback from an unfortunate Palin-family joke — handily beat "Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" last night, 3.5 to 3.0 in the overnights.NUP_135463_0073

However, NBC is claiming victory, too. "Conan O'Brien (1.5/6 in 18-49 in local people meters) delivered a 67% margin of victory in adults 18-49 over CBS's LATE SHOW (0.9/3) in Nielsen's 21 local markets with People Meters," reads the PR. Both NBC late night hosts "also won convincingly among adults 25-54. At 11:35 p.m., it was Conan 1.7/6; LATE SHOW, 1.2/5; and at 12:35 a.m., it was Jimmy Fallon, 0.8/5; LATE LATE SHOW, 0.6/4."
