What's working for me...
1. Kanye's apology. The fact he had nothing to say when Jay Leno asked what his mother would think of him now spoke volumes about how sorry he was.
2. "Community." The NBC comedy, which debuts Thursday, has potentially a breakout role for Joel McHale as a disbarred lawyer forced to go back to college. I wish I could say the same about his worn-out costar, Chevy Chase.
3. Royals win streak. New rule: The worst three teams in baseball get to carry a 40-man roster all season.
... and what's not
1. All the hating on Jay. The 9 p.m. Leno show proved to be some kind of Rorschach test, with most critics who never cared for the old Leno show piling on his new one. Hey, if you'd rather watch jaded cops pick up DNA samples at that hour, be my guest.
2. Televised tantrums. Really now, Kanye, Serena, Rep. Wilson: Is it that hard to count to three before doing something really stupid when you know TV cameras are getting everything?
3. QVC HD. Let me get this straight: Because KCTV doesn't have the right equipment, Craig Ferguson (whose show is delayed one hour) can't be replayed in high definition, but a shopping channel can?
