Superintendent fired

The Kansas City Board of Education never ceases to amaze me. Every time its members make a decision, I am reminded of what Mark Twain said: “God made the idiot for practice, and then he made the school board.”

I would submit that they should resign themselves, since they don’t seem to be able to select and support a superintendent of their own choosing (10/27, A-1, “Taylor out as KC school chief”).

The ship of the school district keeps getting a new captain. No wonder it never makes port.

I feel compelled to point out that Bernard Taylor was not fired. I see no evidence that he is being prevented from finishing his contractual obligation that ends June 30th of next year. Being 'fired' implies immediate termination.
