Rolling roof

I see that the rolling-roof idea for the Jackson County sports stadiums appears to be a corpse that refuses to be interred (4/6, A-1, “Supporters of rolling roof set sights on August vote”). I have not strong feelings either pro or con. But I can’t help wondering what will happen to that lightweight roof if (or when) it is hit by one of our famous severe thunderstorms.

Is it aeronautically possible that, like a huge kite, it could soar to Columbia and give MU its own covered football field? Just a thought.

They could sell tickets to watch the roof during major storms. I wouldn't pay Chiefs prices to watch, but it might be worth Royals prices.
