It seems to me that after so many years of so many people planning and anticipating a new performing arts center in Kansas City the news of the actual “groundbreaking” should have had a better location than the 12th page of the Local section of The Star (10/7).
Paul Horsley’s excellent article entitled “Groundbreaking marks birth of new arts center” should have had priority over the Shawnee murder trial.
I returned to the Kansas City area in 1952, and I am now 77. I still attend performances anyplace except at the Music Hall.
So I am delighted to know there will be a good place to listen and watch good music being performed.
I can hardly wait to hear cellist Ho Anthony Ahn and many others performing at the new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Incidentally, by that time I will be 80!
