For the 30 percent of you who still approve of the job that this administration is doing, just look at Page 6 of Friday’s paper (6/22). There you will see Dick Cheney’s office making it perfectly clear for all to see that they intend to operate outside the laws and rules of government, including rules approved by this administration (“Cheney’s office rejects rules for classified data; Dispute over required reports reflects wider issue of vice president’s desire for secrecy”).
The concept of government “by the people, for the people” is being ignored completely. Bush should rein in this renegade office, or Congress should move to impeach. My guess is that there isn’t enough courage, competence or leadership in either branch of government for this to occur. We should expect and demand better from our elected officials.

It should surprise no one that VP Cheney claims that he has immunity from the laws or Constitutional responsibility. This is the same attitude possessed by all outlaws. Considering he is a member of an outlaw administration, it all fits together logically.
Those who support and defend this lawless administration are showing their support for lawlessness and disdain for the rule of law and the Constitution. Very revealing.

"The VP does have a basis for saying he is a member of both the Executive and the Legislative Branches as he is the President of the Senate"
Member of both, answerable to neither. Yeah, that's a great argument.

The VP does have a basis for saying he is a member of both the Executive and the Legislative Branches as he is the President of the Senate. NP has no such dual role and would have no basis for making the claim. The VP is just trying to keep Waxman and the Witch Hunters busy.
jack--You mean Jefe Principal? Or were you trying to be subtle?

Looked like an actual discussion might happen here. But, Buddy wins again. Nothing meaningful can be talked about.
What a yawn.

Yea CRD, Buddy and Sophie would be a match made in heaven wouldn't it? A domestic dispute in that household would make for good pay preview TV.
Our government is completely out of control in the secrets and coverups and spending categories....and has been for decades. Govt is way to large....and does way too much meddling in domestic and foreign affairs.
There is really only one way to reign it in.....reduce the size of govt and cut off the money. And niether party is promoting that right now.
We found out yesterday that Bush has given $2.1 billion to religious-based charities last year. What is govt doing this for???? Since when do have $2.1 billion for that? That entire funding program and funding mechanism should be eliminated.

Buddy's in love with Sophie, isn't he?
Posted by: CRD | June 26, 2007 at 01:04 PM
Man, I am lovin' this thread....lol..Darth strikes again!
Oh, BTW Sophie, I quite worring about "what other people thought of me" in about 7th grade....Sure socialist Europe doesn't like us, at least until their checks are due from good old Uncle Sugar...I, and most real Americans could give a rat's elbow about their opinions....Heck, they aren't even capable of defending their sorry keesters and they rely on us like a couple of remoras on a great white.....You love them if you want Sophie, they are I think "your kind".

Cheney's actions have communicated that his attitude toward the American people are the same as his feelings for Sen Leahy: We the people can go F ourselves.

Like Bill Murray in "Little Shop Of Horrors" what Buddy respects about Big Dick is his "strength". Buddy likes a leader that answers to no one. A strong man who just decrees what is "right" and demands we all follow. Sort of a "leader principal".
Wonder what that would sound like in another language.

Let's face it as long as there are Republicans in the White House and Congress, the image the rest of the World will have of Americans is Buddy T.

Short answer T, several things. The immigration bill is a mockery of justice, yet GW pushes it,allowing all these pork bills to pass without veto. Letting Kennedy get away with the education bill, the presecription drug give away, just to name a few. Howver, that being said, I still love old Darth....lol...

I think the question for Buddy is: "Is there anything that you disapprove of on this administration?"
Everytime we present something that is just plain wrong or done incorrectly about this administration you declare, how you say "kookdom". To have such blind faith in a person or a government is quite scary and I do hope that someday you have the courage to ask questions or sit back and think, "Something is not right."

Buddy T, if this were Pelosi saying that she was not part of the Legislative Branch and therefore she was exempt from certian laws, what would your response be? My guess is it wouldnt be a laughing matter.
Posted by: openmind | June 26, 2007 at 08:04 AM
a nation of laws -- that means no one is above the law.
Posted by: CRD | June 26, 2007 at 07:57 AM
Man I love Darth Vader, he has the innate ability to drive the kookdom absolutely beserko! Rock on Mr. Vice President, rock on! lmao......
Posted by: BuddyT | June 26, 2007 at 07:06 AM
First Cheney claims he is a part of the Executive Branch and therefor is covered under "executive privledge". Then he claims for this purpose that he is part of the Legislative Branch. He even has decreed himself the right to refuse Presidential Directives.
Geuss ole Dick don't have to answer to anybody.
So much for Bush being in charge. He ain't even in charge of his own Vice President.
