User error?

Perhaps Al Mason (7/21, Letters, “Reliable, durable vehicles”) isn’t providing proper maintenance for his General Motors products. He says that he has purchased six of them and that none has made it to 85,000 miles.

I drive a 1988 Chevrolet pickup truck with more than 140,000 miles on it and would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It does not use much oil, and all it requires is gasoline and normal maintenance.

Amen! That or poor Al has been buying up all of the GM lemons. My luck with GM has been quite opposite and I'm sure Al's string of bad luck will continue with his next 6 imports. Some people and cars just don't get along.
Am I the only one who notices that it must be either someones assignment or hobby at the Star to print on an almost weekly basis letters bashing GM or Ford. Never see any letters bashing imports, they surely get some.
Oh, sorry, can't say import in these blogs, it confuses many who can't IDENTIFY imports. I should have said something like Toyota or Honda. The Star riles many auto workers in KC with this one sided stance.
