Cleaner, safer energy

With the threat of global warming becoming real and apparent, it is necessary for the United States, who leads the world in carbon dioxide emissions, to take action in converting to cleaner, more efficient and safer energy. Wind and solar energy are perhaps the cleanest, but don’t come close to the efficiency of nuclear power.

Nuclear power does not contribute to global warming and is relatively safe. Ninety percent of France’s energy comes from nuclear power, so I don’t see why we couldn’t do it here. America needs to take action and lead the world towards cleaner energy, which would in turn alleviate pressures and dependency on oil.

Those who are hesitant to move towards nuclear power don’t seem to realize that few people have been harmed by this resource when it remains simply an energy source. Its usage in America could lead to not only environmental, but economic gains.

Becoming real and apparent to who? But you are right, it is insane that this country has not built a nuclear power plant since Gerald Ford was in office. Thankyou.

Hey nameless Guy(I know you can't help it, it was just your turn to be nameless)

Who said the rich people who run the world are "evil"? They are a fact of life now as they have been forever. Rich people run the world and for the most part don't give a crap about us normal folks. That does not make them "evil". Pr#@ks maybe, but not "evil"

The rich people who run this planet don't give a crap about you or me anyway, so why make sensible affordable energy.

Try to resist the urge to make nameless faceless people evil. You don't know what you are talking about. You could be right, but you do not actually know.
It is easy to assign guilt to the "rich".
I imagine the rich have children, grandchildren, friends just like the rest of us.

Good morning BuddyT,
What do you propose be done with nuclear waste. I don't know much about it other than its hazardous forever. Wind and solar are the most sensible ways to produce power but its easier for power companies to charge a lot for something they have to continue to purchase (oil, natural gas and coal) than to spend the money to give us what the world needs for its continued success and very existence, a sensible power source. The rich people who run this planet don't give a crap about you or me anyway, so why make sensible affordable energy.

BuddyT

Never happen Eddie B. To many envirowhack jobs like you will start on the disposal of "nuke waste", which is even more evil to mankind them than the HYPER DEADLY SUV....TA DA!

Yet another water melon letter this week...as I am so fond of saying...."gag me with a carbon credit'!
