What kind of stupid mentality does it take to steal an American flag and post in front of a homeowner’s house?
I fly my American flag day and night, to honor all veterans and all the men and women in uniform. Plus to honor my four brothers who proudly served and fought in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
I belong to 26 veterans organizations to honor all veterans. I hope the “flag thief” flies my American flag with honor because I wrote my brothers’ names on my flag with a permanent marker.

Good morning Rovert,
Thank you for that illumination.

Actually solomon, it is perfectly acceptable for a U.S. flag to be flown at night, assuming proper lighting.
United States Code, Title 36
§ 174. Time and occasions for display
(a) Display on buildings and stationary flag staffs in open; night display. It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed twenty-four hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.

First of all, I'm sorry someone stole your flag. Secondly, to really pay respect, the flag should come down at night. Third, someone once stole a lawnmower with three wheels off my porch, theft has no limit and makes no sense.
