Unions support American Dream

If you’ve worked for a living wage, worked in a shop that had safety standards, were paid overtime for more than 40 hours, had a pension plan, vacation or employer-subsidized health care, you owe a big debt to labor unions.

Whether you belong to a labor union or not, if you have any of these things you have them because union workers had the courage to fight for you to have them.

The American dream as we know it would have died in the early 1900s if not for organized labor, and that’s the only thing that keeps it alive today.

Stupid and greedy management caused the union movement. Unions then got stupid and greedy, causing the union busting of the last 30 years. Now management is getting stupid and greedy again.

And the music goes round and round.
