Past life or present troubles? Two articles in the 5/28 Star — “Glitch halts work by Mars spacecraft” (A-2) and “Food stamps can’t keep up with prices” (A-1) — make me wonder which is more important.
It’s a no-brainer. Millions, perhaps billions, of taxpayer dollars to hunt for clues to possible past life on Mars, or money to help solve our own present problems?
That past life (if found) is past. If they find any, then what? Why, when and how this happened? Will they dig in the dirt for maybe more clues?
All that money for past, possible and perhaps?
I don’t think so, and I’ll bet many, many agree.

Rogue, I supported Ron Paul. What on earth makes you think I want larger govt? You think I must be liberal because I disagree with you. How simple. You see everything as black and white dont you?

SOunds more like priorities for those that continually mooch and choose to live at the standard they are in. Why are they tehre, you said it, government. They depend on government and you get what government gives you, mediocraity. Seniors and disbaled people, fine, no problem seeing their essentials are covered but when I see some single mom using sa foodtsamp card, a shopping cart loaded up with soda, STEAK, and all the goodies while sporting fnacy nails and the $200 hair doo, I hardly feel sorry for her.

Joe, Blow. We have spent record amounts on domestic spending, and its never enough for you guys, never. No wonder our budget is in the tank.

Priorities has not been a strong point of the federal govt...especially Bush.

Almost $7 trillion spent since LBJ declared a war on poverty, and it is still not enough, right Louisa?
