Rush Limbaugh, elitist

I am appalled that Premiere Radio Networks will give Rush Limbaugh $400 million (7/3, A-6) so that he can continue to poison this country’s political discourse with his hate speech and gross misrepresentations of the truth.

It is easy to see why Limbaugh is a strong advocate of President Bush’s tax breaks for the wealthy. Any of his listeners who believe he speaks for the common man are deceiving themselves, for Rush Limbaugh is a true elitist. Besides his enormous wealth, he lives in a $25 million oceanfront mansion in Florida, associates primarily with the rich and powerful, and believes that all that he says and advocates is indisputable.

Those who complain about the animosity between political parties in this country need look no further than Rush Limbaugh to see where such animosities are nurtured.

Thank you, Kate. Want to go out for coffee?

Just watched the Royals game. Yeah, I know, really bored. After everything they did right they "fist bumped". As Fox News and Rush Limbaugh (amongst other right wing shouters) they must all be terrorists.

Bravo!

“Chris, why are you so sure I'm a man?”

Don't worry. No one here thinks you’re a man.

Soldiering on, trying to teach shrimp to whistle, let's review:
Rush Limbaugh comes from a family of laywers.
Rush Limbaugh couldn't get to his sophomore year in Podunk U in a corner of the state his family owns, and did in fact flunk ballroom dancing.
Rush Limbaugh got a note from his family doctor to excuse him from Army class because he had big cysts on his pooper.
Rush Limbaugh can't maintain a relationship with an adult woman.
Rush Limbaugh got caught with unprescribed Viagra on a flight to country famous for its sex tourism.
Rush Limbaugh-well, why even talk about the drug thing.

Chris! I've got a guy here who you would certainly want to follow listen REAL CLOSELY TO on slimeball lawyers, duty to country, moral behavior, and coddling druggies. He knows EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW about international relations, U.S. history, and economics. I won't tell you his name, but his Secret Service code name is SPEBLAMI (Shrill Pudgy Effeminate Bachelor Lecturing America on Moral Issues).
I need a beer.

Chris, why are you so sure I'm a man?

Chris40

It's time to get over your man crush, Pube.

And, to tell the truth, I see a future for Jumbo as a reviewer of all kinds of things. We know he's an expert on radio shows he doesn't listen to. But why stop there?

The Star fired their arts writer. They should hire Jumbo. He can review operas without seeing them. Concerts without showing up. Ballets without ever leaving his basement.

If he could also start reviewing movies he hasn't seen or restaurants where he's never eaten, I don't see any reason why he couldn't be a reviewer in a dozen or so cities at the same time. He wouldn't even have to go there, yet he could still be the expert, just like his is with Rush.

Um, let's get this back on track. Remember, Rush "made it on his own" only because he couldn't follow his family of slimeball lawyers into their little Cape Girardeau fiefdom. Do you realize if he HADN'T flunked ballroom dancing, he might have made it into law school and done something with his life? Or maybe gone into the military and made a career of it.

Jim

Wow, only in Iggy40's vacuum of a mind could "I don't listen to him" mean "I've never ever ever listened to him. Ever."

Keep at it Iggy. One day the light will come on.

Chris40

I wonder if Jumbo is the only person who can confidently assess the value of a radio show he doesn't listen to himself.

Or, does the collective listen to it for him?

Jim

"...you couldn't make this stuff up."

Coming from someone who routinely makes stuff up. Priceless.

Chris40

"Secondly, the return on one's investment of time listening to Rush is pretty poor. That's why I don't."

1. Jumbo feels that the return on one's investment is poor when listening to Rush.

2. Jumbo doesn't listen to Rush.

3. Pray tell, how then does Jumbo know it's a poor allocation of one's time, if he doesn't listen?

Libruls...you couldn't make this stuff up.

Jim

You truly are deranged.

"But when your pals start their own radio network it loses money early and often. Pathetic."

I actually don't know anyone on the radio, Air America or otherwise. None of my "pals" have their own show.

Secondly, the return on one's investment of time listening to Rush is pretty poor. That's why I don't. But I've never said they shouldn't pay him whatever they want to. That's just something you made up out of thin air. You have a habit of doing that.

Keep spinning, Iggy.

Pot, meet kettle.

In your mind Rush is a "bad investment." But when your pals start their own radio network it loses money early and often. Pathetic.

With so many libruls around, you'd think Hot Air America could support themselves. Instead, El Rushbo's show is worth 400 million times more than the entire Lib radio station. Classic.

jack

Ole Rush is the very picture of the cigar smoking, country club, fat cat. He works at creating that picture. Then he calls others "elitist". The guy has guts. And if enough people will genuflect towards him, he is going to get the money. So what?

BTW: How come only Kerry and Kennedy should be looked down on for being born and/or married to priviledge? Wasn't your hero George born into priviledge? Didn't McCain dump his first wife to marry into the money of his second?

Seems to me there is some awfully selective memory involved ion who you look down on for not "earning" their money.

Jim

Your childish self-importance is tiring, Iggy40. At least try to stay on topic one day out of the week.

Chris40

"People can pay as much money for that as they want, but they're not getting a very good return on their investment, in my opinion."

Yeah, right. Tell that to the people who invested in Air America.

Jim

That should read:

"People can pay as much money for that as they want, but they're not getting a very good return on their investment, in my opinion."

Jim

I don't like Rush because he's completely wrong and pompous about being wrong. And he's a hypocrite. People can pay as much money for that as they want, but they're getting. I couldn't care less about how much he makes.

I did like that he compared Bill O'Reilly to Ted Baxter, though. First true thing he's said in many years.

"They prefer John Kerry or Teddy Kennedy, who are rich because they married money or were born into it."

Sorry to break it to you, but your nominee dumped the wife he was cheating on and married into money. Lots of it.

Chris40

The Libs don't like Rush because he actually worked hard and earned his own money.

They prefer John Kerry or Teddy Kennedy, who are rich because they married money or were born into it.

Good for Rush. He earned every dime.
