Kline locked up a ‘monster’

Like every other parent who watched last week the reading of the horrific crimes committed against Kelsey Smith, I couldn’t help but stand in the shoes of Greg and Missey Smith. It was every parent’s worst fear. And they were living it.

Although a nightmare like this is never over, I pray the family of Kelsey Smith does have some peace in knowing that Edwin Hall can never harm another young woman again. I commend Phill Kline for locking that monster up and throwing away the key. To all those who have criticized Mr. Kline, I can only say that actions speak louder than words.

Phill Kline can represent me any day of the week.

"A Johnson County judge is scolding District Attorney Phill Kline for not cooperating with defense attorneys in the Kelsey Smith case."

Worth noting that this source is not the KC Star.

This response has nothing to do with Planned Parenthood - let's get that out of the way.

When our former DA accepted a guilty plea rather than take a defendant to trial, Phill Kline made big talk at the time about the courage it takes to make the decision to try someone for their crimes. Yet when faced with the same choice, Phill did the same thing.

I think that was the right thing to do, by the way. It's just funny that, once in office, he is doing the same thing for which he criticed his predecessor.

I heard a Kline political ad on the radio this morning.

He was complaining something about "activist courts".

His concern over activist courts seems kind of hypocritical, since he's an "activist district attorney" himself.

Jack, losers like you ... you're a bigot ... you whine and snivel like a little girl ... your scrotum polishing Guinn ... another slimeball ... Johnson County's litany of scum in office ... Just keep buying into the crap the handmaidens to corruption at The Star want you to believe ...

If Kline was really interested in locking up a "monster" her would lock himeslf up! He is a perfect example of why I am not a Rep anymore!

Yes, Kline won this. The defendant pleaded guilty after his defense team FINALLY recv'd the majority of the discovery evidence against him, after multiple delays by Mr. Kline which got many admonitions from the judge to tell Phill to do his job.

The case shouldn't have gone on as long as it did. Had Phill done his job to start with in turning over ALL the discovery evidence, there would have been a guilty plea earlier, saving county taxpayers money.

"The simple fact is that Kline is an intelligent, well-qualified, HONEST"

Honest? Like where he lives?

Gentle Ben

Jack, losers like you will never be satisfied with what Kline does because you're a bigot. You have no idea what this case was, or wasn't yet you whine and snivel like a little girl.

The simple fact is that Kline is an intelligent, well-qualified, HONEST, leader despite the campaign of lies and deceit that PP and its media lackeys have told against him.

Go ahead and elect your scrotum polishing Guinn. Add yet another slimeball to Johnson County's litany of scum in office. Even when Wyandotte County was at its worst it had the good sense to at least elect an honest DA. Johnson County, not so much.

Just keep buying into the crap the handmaidens to corruption at The Star want you to believe and Johnson County will be as corrupt as KCMO.

“I want an attorney who wins the hard ones.” - jack

Unless we’re talking about Planned Parenthood.

There is a term fr this kind of case, ti's called a "slam dunk". I wonder if Kathy would be so thrilled if the prosecuor of this slam dunk case had been a Democrat.

Personally, I don't want an attorney who wins an easy case. I want an attorney who wins the hard ones.
